Effective January 1, 2027, CPT 92507 will be deleted and replaced by a new family of timed treatment codes for speech-language pathology. This one-hour live webinar, presented by Mississippi's ASHA State Advocate for Reimbursement (STAR), reviews the new code set, including code selection, time rules and documentation requirements. It also covers current information from Mississippi Medicaid and other payers about implementation, prior authorizations and fee schedules. Participants will discuss how the changes affect different practice settings and identify practical steps to prepare their billing, documentation and scheduling systems. A live Q&A will address members' questions.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify the new speech-language pathology treatment codes that replace CPT 92507, and select the correct code based on the disorder treated and the time spent.
- Describe the documentation needed to support the new timed codes, including time thresholds, add-on units and the combined speech-and-language code.
- Outline at least three steps to prepare their practice setting for the January 1, 2027 transition, based on current guidance from Mississippi Medicaid and other payers.

Ruth Ann King, M.S., CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist with 15 years of clinical experience and the owner of King Speech-Language Therapy in Corinth, Mississippi. She serves as Mississippi's ASHA State Advocate for Reimbursement( STAR), is currently serving a 3 year term on the ASHA Medicaid Committee, recently elected MSHA VP of Healthcare and works closely with the Mississippi Division of Medicaid on coding and fee schedule issues.
Ashton Hotard, M.S., CCC-SLP is the founder and owner of Jubilee Therapy, a pediatric therapy clinic established in 2018. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Alabama. As a clinician and business owner, Ashton is passionate about providing high-quality, family-centered care and creating opportunities for children to reach their fullest potential. Through her leadership at Jubilee Therapy, she is committed to supporting both the professional growth of her team and the well-being of the children and families they serve.
Jenna Nassar, M.S., CCC-SLP is a pediatric speech pathologist and an instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Cancer at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In addition to these roles, she is also the Clinical Internship coordinator for the Department of Speech Pathology. She specializes in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders and am trained in various approaches including the SOS approach to feeding, Vital Stim, Beckman Oral motor protocol, myofascial release, and oromyofunctional therapy. She holds Board Certification in swallow and swallowing disorders through the ABSSD. She is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, the Mississippi Speech Language Hearing Association and SIG 13. Her background includes swallowing disorders in trach and ventilator adult acute patients and now pediatric feeding disorders. She graduated summa cum laude in 2007 from Mississippi University for Women with a B.S. in speech and hearing science and then graduated in 2009 with high distinction with an MS in Communicative Sciences from Jackson State University. She enjoys the academia related to our profession and has served as an adjunct professor with Jackson State University as well as a student intern supervisor for various programs. She is employed by the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Cancer at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she receives a salary and has nothing else to financially disclose at this time.
